Our Story
The Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges have been here for over 25 years and underwent an extensive refurbishment programme in 2012 and 2013. We are committed to being environmentally responsible and have integrated sustainable practices into our daily operations. Our refurbishment included the installation of energy-efficient lighting, water-saving fixtures, and improved insulation to reduce our carbon footprint.
We actively support local biodiversity by maintaining green spaces and sourcing products from nearby suppliers to minimise transport emissions. Guests are encouraged to participate in our recycling and conservation initiatives throughout their stay.
We see ourselves as an integral part of the countryside and neighbourhood, working closely with the local community to promote environmental awareness. Tourism is very important to the local economy, and visitors to the area receive a warm welcome from all the local businesses and activity providers, many of whom also share our commitment to sustainability.
